Find the right role for you

The Rank-Grade Guide

The NSW Government offers a wide variety of careers which utilise your unique military experience and skills. Most NSW Government jobs are advertised on the I work for NSW website.

If you are looking for a role, a great place to start is with the Rank-Grade Guide, which is a tool we've developed to help you estimate what NSW Government Grade matches your Australian Defence Force (ADF) rank.

You can search and apply for jobs directly through this website using the Rank–Grade Guide below.

Please note: This tool is intended as a guide only. You should consider your non-military and/or specialist skills and experience when choosing your rank level to insert into the tool.

If there is a job advertised outside of the grades recommended for your equivalent rank in the below tool, consider your overall experience and if you feel you meet the criteria submit your application.
